Why long fuel queues persist in Plateau – DPR
Fluctuating number of trucks that supply fuel into Plateau State is said to be responsible for the persistent scarcity of fuel and long queues experienced in some fuel stations, the Department of Petroleum Resources said yesterday.
DPR Operations Manager in the state, Jeremiah Mashat told Daily Trust on phone that the state received 26 trucks on Monday which have been distributed to areas in Jos as well as Bassa, Barkin Ladi, Mangu and Jos south local government areas of the state.
“If Plateau State is getting the 26 trucks supply consistently for one week, the fuel queues would disappear.” Mashat said.
With continues fuel scarcity in the state, Daily Trust observed very long queues at the NNPC mega station and a few fuel stations selling around the Ring road. But all fuel stations around Bauchi road, Murtala Mohammed Way, Ahmadu Bello Way and Beach road were not selling the commodity.
